BC-A/r — Restricted Residential Contractor
BC-A/r is Tennessee's restricted residential building classification, capped at contracts of $125,000 or less. Unlike BC-A (full residential) and the other BC-series classifications, BC-A/r doesn't have a trade exam you can study for and sit through Prov.
Instead, the trade-competency requirement is satisfied by completing an approved course through a Tennessee community college. That course has to run through the college itself — it's not something a private exam-prep platform can offer or substitute for.
You'll still need the Business & Law exam either way, and we cover that in full.
Outgrowing the $125,000 cap?
